“ Worth the hike (1.5 hours one way) or drive up the dirt road (15 minutes) to this mountain side restaurant. We drove over from Garmish so we could say we went to Italy for lunch ;-) We sat on the deck and enjoyed the spectacular views until the rain came and they helped us move inside the glass sunroom, which had just as good of views of the mountains and valleys. Ordered the charcuterie plate + some beers and coke for appetizers, for lunch the kids got spaghetti and tomato sauce, the Macaroni Hut (which is penne in vodka sauce) and the spaghetti with butter, garlic and tomatoes, the last which was the clear winner, even though other two were great. My husband got the special pasta with beef, speck and mushrooms, and they forgot to place my order, oops, but it totally worked out and I didn't care! The portions were so large that I helped eat everyone else's pasta dishes, and we took two containers home and the kids ate the leftovers for dinner. Definitely drive up here, 100% worth it. ”
